The SwissBritNet corpus documents cultural exchanges between Switzerland and Britain in the 17th and 18th centuries with a database of thousands of catalogued letters, travel diaries and books in six languages. In addition, many of the letters come with facsimiles, transcriptions and – in the case of Latin texts – translations. To make a first exploration of these riches easier, we have written up some of the international experiences which these texts record. Every tile below leads to a story, and every story introduces a human moment: a student’s struggles, a sightseeing trip, a scholarly correspondence, a library of English books in Basel, a theatre visit in London… enjoy!
